Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week travel contract in Lexington, KY, requiring ARRT RT(R) certification and at least 1 year of relevant experience.
Details
- Interventional Radiology department within an acute care hospital setting
- Performs radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, computer processing, and related imaging techniques
- 5x8-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- Call, weekend, and holiday coverage required
- 40 hours per week
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of interventional radiology or mammography diagnostic imaging experience
- Associate's degree from a JRCERT-accredited Radiology Program
- Current ARRT certification in Radiography - RT(R)
- Current BLS certification
- State radiation license required if applicable
- Ability to operate imaging equipment and apply radiation protection principles including ALARA
- Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include performing and documenting peripheral venipuncture, fluoroscopic-guided procedures, and time-out procedures for invasive exams
- Collaborates with radiologists, nursing units, and transport staff to coordinate patient workflow and care
- Assists with training new employees on equipment functionality and exam protocols, and provides instruction to imaging students on clinical rotation
- Assists radiologists and authorized providers in establishing imaging protocols
- Must maintain continuing education hours as required by the applicable licensing agency
- Supports services in IR and Hybrid OR
