Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Float Pool - Pediatrics position requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and the ability to float across all children's units on a night shift schedule.
Details
- Hospital setting, floating across all children's acute care units including surgical, behavioral health, med specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), heme/onc, step-down, and cardiac peds
- May also be floated to the NICU for feeder/grower (low acuity) patients only — not traditional NICU assignments
- Night shift, 12-hour days, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- Weekend and holiday coverage required
- Float pool position — floating to various pediatric units is a primary expectation of the role
- EMR experience with some computer proficiency required
Requirements
- Active OK RN license or current multistate compact (eNLC) RN license required
- Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Experience with trach care, high-flow oxygen, and IV infusions required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Provides nursing care to pediatric patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex across multiple acute care units
- Responsible for monitoring physiological data, administering medications, managing IV infusions and blood products, and intervening as clinically appropriate
- Collaborates with physicians, delegates tasks to support staff, and communicates care plans to patients and families
- Workers who have previously been placed at this facility may only extend once, for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation is required before being eligible for another contract
- Compliance requirements (drug screen, background check, medical requirements) must be initiated immediately upon offer acceptance — start dates will not be adjusted for non-compliance
