Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist for an acute care burn unit position requiring 1+ year of experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Acute care hospital burn unit setting
- Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
- Weekend-heavy schedule: every weekend plus one variable weekday
- Floating within the inpatient setting is required
- Patient population consists of burn patients with 0–100% TBSA burns, as well as patients with mobility-limiting conditions such as pain and surgical dressings
- Caseload ranges from approximately 2–8 patients per day, with higher census during warmer months
- Outpatient PT evaluations and therapy assistance may be performed as time allows
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Current, active OT license (LA license required if applicable)
- Minimum 1 year of relevant OT experience
- Proficiency with Epic EMR required
- Current BLS certification
- Supervisor reference dated within the last 12 months required for consideration
- Copy of Driver's License required for consideration
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
Additional Information
- Primary focus on mobility and positioning interventions to prevent contractures and scarring in burn patients
- Position is open to both Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Up to 5 days of RTO may be requested for this assignment
- Any work history gaps of more than 30 days must be listed and explained in the candidate profile
- Former permanent employees of any LCMC facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being considered for a travel assignment
