Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring 2+ years of cardiac ICU experience including direct open-heart OR admissions, with night shift availability on a 13-week contract.

Details

• Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of an acute care hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:2, based on acuity; unit may have overflow patients requiring step-down level of care at times
• Specialized procedures include direct fresh open-heart admissions from the OR, hemodynamic pressure monitoring, Swan-Ganz catheter management, Impella monitoring, and CRRT
• Charting performed in Cerner EMR
• Schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00–07:00), including weekdays and weekends
• Blocked schedules considered only for weekend-only requests (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon)
• 13-week contract with possibility of extension

Requirements

• Active WV RN license or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU or cardiac surgery nursing experience required
• Demonstrated experience with ACT (Activated Clotting Time) is required
• Experience with direct open-heart OR admissions, cardiac surgery skills, Swan-Ganz management, Impella monitoring, and CRRT required
• Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
