Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit Float Pool position at a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center in Georgia, requiring a minimum of 2 years of PCU/cardiac experience in a large, high-volume facility.
Details
- Float pool position covering all PCU/IMCU floors with a cardiac patient population
- Patient population includes STEMI, NSTEMI, cardiac surgery (CTS), and chest pain (C/P) cases
- Manages cardiac drips including Milrinone, Dobutamine, and Pressors
- May be assigned to telemetry beds within the same unit for lower-acuity patients
- Patient ratio of 1:3–4
- Uses Epic EMR
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
- No on-call requirements
- Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
- Block scheduling is generally not approved
Requirements
- Active RN license — Georgia (GA) or Compact license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of PCU or comparable cardiac nursing experience
- Experience in a large, high-volume, high-acuity hospital environment required — candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
- Proven ability to manage critical, fast-paced situations in complex trauma environments
- Epic EMR experience

- This position is based at a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center known for complex and high-volume cases
- Minimal RTO (time-off requests) will be approved for this assignment
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
