Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Postpartum) position in Alamogordo, NM, requiring perinatal nursing experience and multiple certifications including NRP and fetal monitoring.

Details

• Night shift position, 7PM–7AM
• 13-week contract
• Full-time schedule in a Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP) unit
• 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule

Requirements

• Active RN license in New Mexico or a compact state
• Current BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Current ACLS certification required (AHA only)
• Current NRP certification required
• Current certification required from one of the following: AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
• Current S.T.A.B.L.E. certification required (Participant, Lead Instructor, or Support Instructor course)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a related perinatal nursing specialty
• BSN preferred
• Perinatal RN Residency or recent experience in a perinatal setting preferred
• US Social Security Number required for consideration
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• Copies of all certifications (must be active/non-expired) required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides routine and complex nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and effectiveness
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers
• Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed
• New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member and must complete organizational entry competency validation and a Perinatal Services-specific competency validation
• All newly hired RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
