Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Postpartum) position in Alamogordo, NM, requiring perinatal nursing experience and multiple certifications including NRP and fetal monitoring.
Details
- Night shift position, 7PM–7AM
- 13-week contract
- Full-time schedule in a Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP) unit
- 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
Requirements
- Active RN license in New Mexico or a compact state
- Current BLS certification required (AHA only)
- Current ACLS certification required (AHA only)
- Current NRP certification required
- Current certification required from one of the following: AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
- Current S.T.A.B.L.E. certification required (Participant, Lead Instructor, or Support Instructor course)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a related perinatal nursing specialty
- BSN preferred
- Perinatal RN Residency or recent experience in a perinatal setting preferred
- US Social Security Number required for consideration
- 2 professional references required for consideration
- Copies of all certifications (must be active/non-expired) required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provides routine and complex nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and effectiveness
- Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers
- Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed
- New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member and must complete organizational entry competency validation and a Perinatal Services-specific competency validation
- All newly hired RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
