Description

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer with 2+ years of experience and ARDMS registration for a 13-week travel assignment in an acute care hospital setting.

Details

• Hospital-based diagnostic imaging department
• Ultrasound procedures performed across multiple modalities including OB/GYN, abdominal, breast, vascular, and small parts
• May float to other departments within clinical scope before core staff is floated
• 4x10-hour day shifts per week

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of ultrasound experience
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree from a CAHEA-accredited sonography program or equivalent
• ARDMS registration required, including OBMI credential
• Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) required
• Current BLS and NRP required
• CRASE training preferred; required if assignment extends beyond 6 months
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently and assist with transferring patients over 100 lbs using appropriate techniques or mechanical aids
• Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout the shift
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Serves as an advanced user and in-house training resource for peers, vendors, and applications personnel across all clinical ultrasound applications
• Responsibilities include correlating patient clinical history with procedures, preparing patients, selecting and operating ultrasound equipment, positioning patients, evaluating image quality, and assisting with interventional procedures
• May prepare, identify, and/or administer contrast media or medications in accordance with state statutes and institutional policy
• Provides practical instruction for students and other healthcare professionals
• Participates in department quality assessment and improvement initiatives, and may oversee quality control and supply management for assigned areas
• Frequent exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous materials, and medical equipment; PPE required
• Must be prepared to respond to emergency situations and manage multiple simultaneous demands in a fast-paced environment
