Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position in Lexington, KY, requiring BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications with on-call availability.
Details
- Hospital-based Cardiac Cath Lab setting
- Cardiac services include cardiac catheterizations, angioplasty, interventions, ablations, device procedures, TEEs, and cardioversions
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week with call requirements
- Works alongside EP Lab and CV Observation units, which support pre/post-op care
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a compact state currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
- Minimum education: ADN or ASN (BSN preferred)
- Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety measures

- Nursing practice is evidence-based and incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and individualized care planning
- Responsibilities include patient assessments, care coordination, patient and family education, and facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge activities
- Delegates tasks appropriately and monitors accuracy of care provided by other team members
- Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and documentation auditing
- Whole-person, holistic approach to patient care is emphasized throughout the unit
