Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a 41-bed Cardiac Telemetry/Progressive/Respiratory Care unit, requiring BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Details

• Position is on a 41-bed inpatient Cardiac Telemetry/Progressive/Respiratory Care unit (4B) within a hospital setting
• Cares for medical and surgical patients with cardiac dysrhythmia, respiratory illness, and/or significantly altered hemodynamics requiring cardiac telemetry monitoring
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts (0700–1930), 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Weekend and holiday coverage required with no special scheduling accommodations

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety measures
• Proficiency with computer systems and clinical applications, or ability to be trained

• Delivers holistic, patient- and family-centered nursing care incorporating all phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and evidence-based practice
• Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, patient/family education, and facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge activities
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary care teams to coordinate individualized treatment plans and delegate tasks appropriately
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI monitoring
