Description
American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a 30-bed unit specializing in telemetry and surgical overflow, requiring an active KY or compact RN license and ACLS certification.
Details
- Works on a 30-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit (2F/G) within a hospital setting
- Unit specializes in telemetry patients and fast-turnaround surgery, including urology, bariatrics, and orthopedic overflow, and serves as a Bariatric Center of Excellence
- Patient population is primarily transferred from the ED and PACU
- 13-week contract with 36 hours per week
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7p–7a
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a compact state currently in hand
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation
- Minimum education: ADN or ASN (BSN preferred)
- Prior nursing experience preferred but not required
- Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety measures
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary care team members
Additional Information
- Performs comprehensive patient assessments, develops individualized care plans, and implements evidence-based nursing interventions within scope of practice
- Facilitates patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, including coordination with Case Management and execution of discharge teaching
- Delegates tasks appropriately and monitors care provided by other team members
- Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, CAUTI monitoring, and documentation audits
