Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in Lexington, KY, requiring multiple certifications including ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC for night shift coverage.

Details

• Hospital-based Emergency Department providing 24-hour emergency care for patients with severe injuries or acute illness
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• 12-hour shifts on third shift (nights)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a Compact state currently in hand
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, ENPC, TNCC, and Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety interventions
• Proficiency with computer systems and clinical applications, or ability to be trained

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, and implementation of individualized treatment within the RN scope of practice
• Facilitates patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
• Delegates tasks to and oversees team members in execution of the patient care plan
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI monitoring
• Previous nursing experience preferred but not required — first-time travelers may be considered
