Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in Lexington, KY, requiring multiple certifications including ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC for night shift coverage.
Details
- Hospital-based Emergency Department providing 24-hour emergency care for patients with severe injuries or acute illness
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- 12-hour shifts on third shift (nights)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a Compact state currently in hand
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, ENPC, TNCC, and Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation
- ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
- Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety interventions
- Proficiency with computer systems and clinical applications, or ability to be trained
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, and implementation of individualized treatment within the RN scope of practice
- Facilitates patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
- Delegates tasks to and oversees team members in execution of the patient care plan
- Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI monitoring
- Previous nursing experience preferred but not required — first-time travelers may be considered
