Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in Lexington, KY, with required ACLS and NIHSS certifications on a day shift schedule.

Details

• 30-bed medical surgical/telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Specializes in telemetry monitoring and fast-turnaround surgical cases including urology, bariatrics, and orthopedic overflow
• Serves as a Bariatric Center of Excellence unit
• Patient population primarily consists of transfers from the ED and PACU
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts per week
• 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license currently in hand
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety measures
• Proficiency with computer systems and clinical applications

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include nursing rounds, patient assessments, treatments, admissions, transfers, and discharge coordination
• Provides patient and family-centered education and individualized care planning
• Delegates tasks to and oversees team members in the delivery of patient care
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction
• BSN is preferred but not required
