Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical position at a hospital in Indiana, requiring at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience and Cerner proficiency, with first-time travelers welcome.

• Hospital Medical/Surgical unit setting
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Cerner EMR used; experience required
• Day shift, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required to other Med/Surg units or affiliate hospitals nearby

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license in hand required
• Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited institution required
• Current BLS (AHA or RQI accepted) and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Cerner charting experience required
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• 2 supervisor references required for consideration
• Proof of ACEN or CCNE accreditation required for consideration
• COVID vaccination required; medical or religious exemptions accepted with supporting documentation

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Indiana residents are not eligible for this position
• Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have a 12-month separation period before being considered as a traveler
• Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive break to reset eligibility: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break, in-state residents require a 180-day break
• Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of RTO may be approved
