Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a fast-paced Telemetry/Med-Surg unit specializing in post-operative surgical patients, requiring at least 1 year of RN experience and a KY or compact license.
Details
- 23-bed medical-surgical unit caring for orthopedic, spine, general surgery, and bariatric patients
- Unit receives approximately 10–20 post-operative patients per day and may receive overflow from medicine areas when beds are available
- Cardiac monitoring and O2 monitoring capabilities are available on the unit
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Floating to other units within skillset is required
Requirements
- Active KY state or compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- BLS certification required; ACLS is not required
- Both medical and surgical nursing skillset required
- Experience caring for post-operative surgical patients, particularly orthopedic and gastrointestinal surgery patients
- 2 supervisor references from within the last 3 years of employment required for consideration
- Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will be considered only if they have demonstrated experience with post-operative surgical patients, specifically in orthopedics or gastrointestinal surgery
- EKG exam must be completed and passed during onboarding
- Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 6 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration; RTO requests made after that point will not be approved
