Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 2 years of adult ICU experience for a night shift position in a general care and adult intensive care unit at an acute care hospital in Indiana.
Details
- Work setting includes general care and adult intensive care units
- Adult ICU patient population
- Skills utilized include airway management, medication administration, ventilator management, ABGs, O2 therapy, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, nebulizer therapy, BiPAP, and CPAP
- Preferred experience in trauma, teaching hospital, and ER settings
- Preferred experience with bronchoscopy
- Cerner EMR is required; experience with Hamilton G5 and Philips V60 equipment is preferred
- Night shift: 4x12-hour shifts, 17:30–06:00
- Consecutive days worked may not exceed 5 in a row
- Holiday rotation required; candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is required
Requirements
- Current Indiana (IN) or Compact RN license — license must be in hand at time of consideration
- Active NBRC RRT credential
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA and RQI accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of adult ICU respiratory therapy experience
- Graduate of a CoARC-accredited, in-person respiratory therapy program that is also regionally accredited through CHEA
- Cerner EMR experience required
- COVID and flu vaccinations required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- 2 supervisor references required for consideration
- License required if applicable

- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Indiana residents are considered local candidates and are eligible for this position
- Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Current or past IU Health travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health must take a designated consecutive break to reset eligibility: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break, and in-state residents require a 180-day break, both prior to reaching the 12-month mark
- Up to 5 days of RTO may be approved automatically
