Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years of critical care experience, including Level 1 trauma center background, for a 13-week night shift contract at an academic teaching hospital in Boston.

Details

• Adult critical care and emergency department (ED) setting at a Level 1 trauma center and academic teaching hospital with 400+ beds
• Patient populations span trauma, neuro, medical, cardiac, and surgical ICUs
• Advanced ventilator management required, including esophageal balloons, PV loop interpretations, driving pressure assessment, and best PEEP maneuvers
• Ventilators used include Hamilton G5, C6, T1, and MR1, as well as Philips EV300 and iNO vent
• Epic EMR in use
• 12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend required
• 2 on-call shifts required per schedule
• Holiday coverage commitment required
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Current Respiratory Therapist License (MA license required if applicable)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy
• Level 1 trauma center experience required
• Academic teaching hospital experience required
• Critical care experience required
• Proficiency in advanced ventilator management techniques
• Must be available to work on-call as needed
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services across adult critical care units and the ED, with a focus on advanced ventilator management
• Orientation takes place weekly on Mondays
• Candidates who have worked at any Beth Israel Lahey Health facility (travel, permanent, or per diem) within the past 6 months are not eligible — a 6-month break is required before returning
• COVID vaccine and booster as well as flu vaccine are required; medical exemptions are accepted
• Flu vaccine documentation required during flu season
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration
