Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years of critical care experience, including Level 1 trauma center background, for a 13-week night shift contract at an academic teaching hospital in Boston.
Details
- Adult critical care and emergency department (ED) setting at a Level 1 trauma center and academic teaching hospital with 400+ beds
- Patient populations span trauma, neuro, medical, cardiac, and surgical ICUs
- Advanced ventilator management required, including esophageal balloons, PV loop interpretations, driving pressure assessment, and best PEEP maneuvers
- Ventilators used include Hamilton G5, C6, T1, and MR1, as well as Philips EV300 and iNO vent
- Epic EMR in use
- 12-hour night shifts
- Every other weekend required
- 2 on-call shifts required per schedule
- Holiday coverage commitment required
- 13-week assignment
Requirements
- Current Respiratory Therapist License (MA license required if applicable)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy
- Level 1 trauma center experience required
- Academic teaching hospital experience required
- Critical care experience required
- Proficiency in advanced ventilator management techniques
- Must be available to work on-call as needed
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory therapy services across adult critical care units and the ED, with a focus on advanced ventilator management
- Orientation takes place weekly on Mondays
- Candidates who have worked at any Beth Israel Lahey Health facility (travel, permanent, or per diem) within the past 6 months are not eligible — a 6-month break is required before returning
- COVID vaccine and booster as well as flu vaccine are required; medical exemptions are accepted
- Flu vaccine documentation required during flu season
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration
- Parking at this location can cost up to $43/day — contact your recruiter for details
