Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg unit position in Georgia, caring for adult through geriatric patients with general medical, surgical, renal, and bariatric needs on night shift.

Details

• Hospital-based Medical Surgical unit with 33 beds and an average daily census of 20
• Patient population includes young adults through geriatric patients with general medical and surgical needs, including renal and bariatric surgery services
• Unit has telemetry capability
• Patient ratio of 1:5–6
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within the facility and scope of practice, as well as to a sister campus as needed
• No on-call requirements
• EMR: Epic; medication dispensing via Pyxis; communication method: SBAR

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for at least 1 full year to be eligible as a returning traveler
• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are strongly preferred

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted
• Navy blue scrubs required
• RTO maximum of 7 days for the contract; RTO may not be requested during the first week of the assignment
• Holiday coverage is required: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two of them
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as one), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as one), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counts as one)
• No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are permitted — the posted night shift is firm
• Travel pairs may not be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
