Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in Illinois, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience with telemetry and dysrhythmia management skills.

Details

• Work on a Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Unit consists of 10 private rooms and 1 observation bed, with telemetry monitoring capacity for up to 4 patients with stable dysrhythmias
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with chronic and acute medical conditions such as CVA, diabetes, renal disease, COPD, pneumonia, cellulitis, and COVID
• Surgical patients include those who have undergone orthopedic, genitourinary, gastrointestinal, and general surgical procedures (major neurosurgical and cardiovascular surgical cases excluded)
• Pediatric patients are excluded from this unit
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Every 2nd to 3rd weekend coverage required
• Floating required to 2 other Med/Surg units
• Medication dispensing via Pyxis
• SBAR communication system used

Requirements

• Active Illinois (IL) RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with skills including IV therapy (starting IVs, peripheral line and PICC line management), blood product administration, wound care/wound vac, chest tube management, colostomy care, feeding tube care, pre/post hemodialysis management, and use of rapid response teams
• Experience with safe patient handling equipment and bladder scanner preferred
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

• Navy blue scrubs required
