Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel MRI Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a night shift position requiring proficiency in a broad range of MRI imaging techniques including musculoskeletal, spine, and neuro studies.
Details
- Acute care hospital MRI department setting
- Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics; familiarity with neonates, infants, and pediatric patients is preferred
- Night shifts, 3x12 hours from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday
- Required MRI imaging skills include abdomen, pelvis, head and neck, spine, musculoskeletal, diffusion (non-brain), gradient echo imaging, MIP, MRP, peripheral magnetic resonance, spin echo images, surface coils, T1 and T2, and CINE
- Preferred skills include chest imaging and image post-processing
- Equipment includes GE and Siemens MRI systems
- EMR system is Epic
- Floating to affiliated orthopedic and regional medical locations is required as needed
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of MRI technologist experience required
- Current BLS and ARRT certification required
- License required if applicable
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Candidates who previously worked at this facility as permanent, PRN, or employed staff must have a 12-month gap before being eligible to apply as a traveler
- Two professional references from a manager or supervisor within the past 12 months are highly preferred; references may be pending at time of consideration but are required prior to start
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible to apply but may be subject to a different pay rate
Additional Information
- Orientation is held during the first week, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM daily; full availability is required throughout orientation week with no other commitments
- Missing any portion of orientation may result in a delayed or canceled start; the confirmed start date is communicated the Tuesday prior to the start week
- Approximately 8–10 hours of pre-start online modules are required to be completed before the assignment begins
- Royal blue scrubs are required
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- RTO is not permitted after booking and cannot be arranged on-site; call-offs or additional RTO may result in contract cancellation
- No RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment due to orientation; up to 7 days of RTO may be approved if it does not fall on a holiday, with anything beyond that requiring facility approval
- Contract staff may be assigned to a Storm Team or Hurricane Team and could be required to report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters
- Travel pairs are permitted; each must have their own transportation and be comfortable with potentially different schedules
