Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care (IMC) Night Shift position requiring ACLS and NIH certifications, with experience managing cardiac, respiratory, and DKA patients.

Details

• Hospital-based Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) with 22 beds and an average daily census of 22 patients
• Adult and geriatric patient population with common diagnoses including cardiac conditions, respiratory illness, and diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA)
• Specialized procedures include Precedex drips, insulin drips, high-flow oxygen, BiPAP, chest tubes, and post-cardiac cath lab/TCAR care
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• Floating required within specialty and to lower acuity units as needed
• On-call status may be assigned in low-census situations in lieu of call-off, though this is rare

Requirements

• Active RN license in Maryland (MD) or a Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and CPI
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; 3 years preferred
• Experience in an Intermediate Care or step-down unit setting
