Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Correctional Med/Surg night shift position requiring an active IL RN license and a minimum of 2 years of acute care experience.

Details

  • Correctional facility setting
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12s, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Every other weekend (2 weekends per month) required
  • Mandatory float facility — all clinicians are required to float at the facility's discretion, including to other Cook County locations within 50 miles
  • Charting performed in Cerner
  • Free parking available on a first-come, first-serve basis
  • No block scheduling accommodations

Requirements

  • Active IL RN license required — no pending licenses accepted
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Med/Surg experience required
  • Correctional nursing experience preferred
  • 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility to be eligible — local candidates are accepted
  • Scrub color: Navy Blue
  • Proof of COVID vaccination required — no exceptions
  • PTO is capped at 5 days for the contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days off at a time
  • No RTO will be approved on weekends, on holidays, or the day before or after a holiday
  • Float assignments may include units outside of the clinician's primary area of competency; a team-based care model is used in those cases
  • Clinicians may receive float notifications as little as 2 hours before their shift
