Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring OR circulating/scrubbing experience for C-sections, with night shift scheduling and an Oregon RN license.
Details
- Acute care hospital L&D unit with 9 L&D beds, 1 OR suite, 2 triage beds, and 4 postpartum beds
- Unit serves LDRP patients with a volume of approximately 850–900 births per year
- Common diagnoses include obstetrical emergencies, hypertension, and hemorrhage
- RNs are required to circulate and/or scrub in the OR for cesarean sections
- RNs are responsible for reading OB strips; telemetry is available on the unit, with monitor techs available for continuous monitoring upstairs
- EFM system used is GE Centricity; EMR is MEDITECH
- RNs are required to titrate drips including Pitocin, LR, Fentanyl, and Labetalol
- Respiratory equipment available includes 2 ventilators and 2 Bubble CPAP units
- Unit is staffed with OB Techs and supported by both a charge nurse and house supervisor
- OB/Neonatologist is not in-house 24/7
- Nurse-to-patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
- 12-hour night shifts on a yearly core schedule
- Weekend requirement: every other weekend or 1 weekend per schedule period based on seniority
- On-call requirement: 2 twelve-hour call shifts every 4 weeks
- This is a closed unit; floating is only required in emergency situations
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active OR RN license (Standard or Compact/NLC) required — pending licenses will not be accepted
- Active certifications required: BLS, ACLS (AHA), NRP, and S.T.A.B.L.E. — pending certifications will not be accepted
- Minimum 2 years of L&D RN experience required
- Experience circulating and/or scrubbing in the OR for cesarean sections required
- Driver's license required for consideration
- 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
Additional Information
- Unit orientation is completed for all new and incoming employees; 12 orientation hours are included
- Purple scrubs are required; scrubs are provided by the facility
- Holiday coverage is per ONA contract
- Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit or CHI/Dignity-affiliated facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
