Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in Pittsfield, MA, requiring at least 2 years of med/surg experience including post-op and telemetry care.

Details

• Day shift position with 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Inpatient med/surg telemetry unit with 20–34 beds depending on unit assignment
• Typical patient ratio of 1:6
• Post-operative patient population requiring telemetry monitoring
• Floating to any med/surg unit is required
• Every other weekend required; holiday coverage required as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Meditech Expanse is the EMR used (experience highly preferred)
• Block scheduling is not available for this position

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license currently in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications required and in hand: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of current medical/surgical nursing experience required
• Post-operative patient care experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Basic Dysrhythmia course completion strongly required
• Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment
• Med/surg skills checklist (current within 1 year) required for consideration
• One supervisory-signed reference from within the past two years of employment required for consideration
• Willingness to float to any med/surg unit required

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Personal scrubs of any color are acceptable — no specific color requirement
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; no more than 5 days of RTO will be approved, and requests made after submission or at/after the time of offer will not be approved
• Travelers may not take all holidays off
• First-time travelers are not mentioned as eligible — prior travel or hospital experience is expected given the requirements
