Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NICU experience and proficiency in neonatal oscillating vents for a 26-week night shift contract at a Level II Trauma acute care hospital that is part of the Yale New Haven Health System.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital with 426 staffed beds, part of the Yale New Haven Health System
- Assignment in a Level III NICU unit
- Patient population includes neonatal and pediatric patients
- Frequent use of neonatal oscillating vents, high frequency jet vents, and Draeger vents
- Charting via Epic (experience required)
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required, with holiday coverage as needed
- Floating between two campuses (Bridgeport and Milford) as needed, with rotation through all hospital areas including NICU and Pediatric units based on census and staffing needs
Requirements
- Current BLS certification required
- CRT or RRT credential required
- State respiratory therapy license required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Level III or IV NICU experience required
- Trauma center experience required
- Proficiency with neonatal oscillating vents required
- Draeger vent experience required
- Prior travel assignment experience required
- Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates
Additional Information
- May be asked to orient students or new hires as needed
- Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities if called upon
- Flu vaccine is required; declinations are not accepted
- COVID vaccine exemptions are accepted for religious or medical reasons only
- Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved; any RTO requests after offer acceptance will not be approved
- 1 reference required for consideration
- Free parking available on site
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
