Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR Circulator RN for a 13-week travel contract in Los Alamos, NM, requiring 2+ years of experience and on-call availability.
Details
- Work in the Operating Room of a 47-bed acute care hospital serving as a major healthcare provider for Northern New Mexico
- Unit includes 3 OR suites, 3 PACU bays, and 5 pre-op bays
- Serves a mixed patient population including all ages
- Patient ratio is 1:1 or 1:2
- EHR systems: CQI and Medhost
- Schedule is 5x8-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
- Every other weekend and as-needed weekend hours required
- On-call required approximately 10–11 days per month (may increase to 15–16 days if only two staff are available)
- Floating to Pre-Op required as needed
Requirements
- Active RN license for New Mexico (NM state license or compact license with NM as primary state required)
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and HWC — all must be in hand prior to consideration, as certifications are not available on site
- Minimum 2 years of OR/surgical nursing experience required
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
- Candidate's permanent address must be 60 or more miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates and to be eligible for the position
Additional Information
- Hospital scrubs are provided; casual wear and open-toed shoes are not permitted
- All clinical staff working in New Mexico must be fingerprinted before hire — travelers may begin on a 14-day waiver while results are pending, with supervision required during that time
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
- Orientation is held weekly on Mondays
- Travel experience is a plus but not required — first-time travelers will be considered
