Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiac Progressive Care Step-Down position in Cape Girardeau, MO, requiring at least 1 year of experience and active MO or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work setting is a 245-bed hospital with a Level 3 Emergency and Trauma Center designation
• Assignment is in the Cardiac Transitional Care Unit
• Patient population consists of cardiac step-down patients
• Patient ratio is approximately 3–4:1
• EMR is Epic
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (36 hours/week)
• Weekends, floating, and on-call as required by the facility

Requirements

• Active RN license in Missouri or a compact state license eligible for Missouri endorsement
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required
• Minimum 1 year of recent cardiac progressive care or step-down experience
• No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Night shift nurses orient on day shift and must be available the full orientation week
• Scrub color required: black
• Flu vaccination or a Mercy-approved exemption is required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
• Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) is allowed but must be made up during the assignment
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but are subject to a reduced bill rate
• Local candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts; after that, they must separate from the facility for at least 1 year or transfer to a facility outside the 50-mile radius
• The facility holds a Comprehensive Cardiac Center Certification and Primary Stroke Center Certification from The Joint Commission, as well as Missouri Level I STEMI and Level II Stroke Center designations
