Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift travel position in Palestine, TX, requiring 2 years of acute care Med/Surg experience and an active TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute care hospital Med/Surg unit setting
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• Every other weekend required
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility may be subject to a local pay rate

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or multi-state compact RN license required
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required — no RQI or RCIS certifications accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience in an acute care hospital setting required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include direct patient care for a wide variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgical cases
• Duties include administering medications, monitoring and adjusting specialized equipment, interpreting electronic displays, and initiating corrective action for adverse patient symptoms
• Additional responsibilities include patient and family education, discharge planning, wound care (dressing changes, catheter insertion, IV starts), and assisting physicians during examinations and treatments
• Participates in care plan development through collaboration with the broader healthcare team
• All certifications must be valid for at least 30 days beyond the contract start date
