Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Springfield, IL, requiring active IL licensure and hands-on interventional cardiac cath lab experience.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting — Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated facility with 562 staffed beds
- Assigned to the Cardiac Cath Lab unit (5-room unit) with an average daily census of 25
- Day shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (0630–1900)
- Required to work 2–3 weekends per 13-week contract
- On-call required as needed
- Floating within scope is required, including potential float to an affiliate nearby hospital
- Required procedures include: Circulate Procedures, Diagnostic Catheterizations (Adult), Left Heart Catheterization, Right Heart Catheterization, and Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz Monitoring
- Required medication experience: Procedural Sedation Administration and Monitoring
- Charting performed in Cerner (experience required)
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Free parking available on-site with a permit obtained during orientation
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards not accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of interventional cardiac cath lab experience required
- Required clinical skills: Interpretation and Management of Dysrhythmias, Monitoring Procedural Sedation
- Cerner EMR experience required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
- Candidates must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays falling within the contract period
- RTO of up to 5 days is generally accommodable; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval
- Schedule change requests should be discussed directly with the manager
- Former permanent or PRN employees of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible to apply as a traveler
- Travel pairs are not accepted for this position
- Floating within the hospital and to nearby affiliate facilities is a requirement for all travelers in this role
