Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry Stepdown/Intermediate Care position at a Level I Trauma Center, working night shifts on a 13-week contract.
Details
- 28-bed cardiac telemetry unit within a Level I Trauma Center
- Stepdown/Intermediate Care unit focusing on all cardiac needs, including post-op care
- Serves patients of all ages
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-6
- Unit is supported by PCTs, a healthcare unit coordinator, monitor techs, and virtual sitter monitoring
- Night shift: 18:30–07:00
- Up to 6 weekend shifts and holiday coverage required as needed
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license (Oklahoma or Compact) currently in hand
- BLS certification required — must be AHA-issued
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
Additional Information
- Implements and monitors patient care plans, communicates patient condition as appropriate, and carries out physician and nursing orders
- Serves as primary coordinator across disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care
- Assesses and coordinates patient discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
- Must demonstrate critical thinking skills and decisive judgment with the ability to work with minimal supervision in a high-stress environment
- Standard precautions and appropriate PPE must be followed at all times
- A copy of your Driver's License, 2 professional references, skills checklist, and copies of certifications and license verification (Nursys) are required for consideration
- Local candidates are welcome to apply; a radius rule applies and may affect pay rate eligibility depending on distance from the facility
- COVID vaccination is not required for this position
