Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Telemetry position on the 9E Acute Care unit, requiring at least 1 year of experience and AHA BLS certification.
Details
- 28-bed acute care unit serving adult cardiopulmonary and neuro overflow patients
- Cardiac telemetry and continuous pulse oximetry monitoring capabilities
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6
- Unit is supported by PCTs, a healthcare unit coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and telemetry monitor techs
- Night shift: 18:30–07:00
- Up to 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling period
- Holiday coverage required based on department needs
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active OK or Compact RN license currently in hand
- AHA BLS certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address (no international addresses)
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include implementing and monitoring patient care plans, coordinating multidisciplinary care, carrying out physician and nursing orders, and assessing discharge planning needs
- Must be able to exercise critical thinking and decisive judgment with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
- Standard precautions and appropriate PPE must be followed at all times
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Driver's license copy required for consideration
- Local candidates are accepted; a radius rule applies and may affect the pay rate depending on the candidate's distance from the facility
