Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity Surgery Trauma unit at a Level 1 trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience and a background in high-volume trauma environments.

Details

• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Unit 6B - Surgery/Trauma floor within a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center
• Patient population includes spinal, neuro, trauma, and surgical cases, including gunshot wounds, quadriplegics, and paraplegics
• Patient ratio of 5:1
• Unit support includes nursing techs, phlebotomists, and a unit secretary on nights
• ED nurses complete a formal nurse handoff when admitting patients to the unit
• Epic EMR required
• Block scheduling is not available — must be flexible with assigned shifts
• Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license — GA license or Compact RN license (currently in hand) required
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or Surgery/Trauma specialty experience required
• Experience in high-acuity, high-volume hospitals with complex and severe cases required
• Proven ability to manage critical, fast-paced trauma situations
• Epic EMR experience required

• This facility is a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center — candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals are not a strong fit for this role
• No RTO (time off requests) will be approved for this assignment
• Local candidates are accepted for this position
• Certifications must be current and on file for consideration
