Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with 2+ years of experience and ARRT advanced registry certification to work in a hospital-based IR unit in Detroit, MI.
Details
- Hospital-based Interventional Radiology unit
- 8-hour day shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
- 40 hours per week
- On-call is required, rotating approximately every 6 weeks for both weekday evenings and one weekend
- On-call rotation frequency may vary based on volume and scheduling
- May float to a nearby sister hospital
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience required
- Current BLS certification required (AHA-issued)
- Active ARRT registration with advanced registry in Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI), Cardiac-Interventional Radiography (CI), or Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography (CV) required
- Active Michigan state license required if applicable
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must maintain required continuing medical education hours
- Proficiency with sterile equipment setup, physiological monitors, pressure injectors, and imaging equipment
- Experience with PACS image management and Radiology Information System (RIS) documentation
- Skills in patient positioning, radiation protection (ALARA principles), and diagnostic imaging technique determination
Additional Information
- Assists Radiologists in performing complex diagnostic invasive procedures including preparation of contrast media, medications, and IV solutions
- Actively assesses patient condition before, during, and after all procedures
- Performs quality assurance procedures and complete medical record and RIS documentation to support clinical and billing functions
- Manages supply inventory including needles, catheters, and other procedural supplies
- May assist with training new personnel or students assigned to the division
- Online orientation modules must be completed onsite prior to start date, typically one week before the start date
- COVID-19 vaccination is required for this position
- RTO requests should be submitted prior to assignment start; requests made after an offer is extended will be reviewed with management once the assignment begins
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
