Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a short-term acute care hospital in Lancaster, SC, requiring prior travel experience and an active SC or Compact RN license.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital with 97 staffed beds
• Med/Surg Telemetry unit serving a general medical/surgical patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:6–1:7
• Schedule: 3x12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required to like units with like patients as needed
• Charting via Epic
• Free parking on-site

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have an active license prior to start
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Telemetry experience preferred, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Royal blue scrubs required
• Required online modules must be completed prior to the start date; access is typically granted the Wednesday before the start date
• Attendance at staff meetings is required
• Candidates who have worked at any MUSC facility as permanent or PRN staff must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible as a traveler
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs
• Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) will be considered; non-local candidates are given priority
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
