Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a short-term acute care hospital in Lancaster, SC, requiring prior travel nursing experience and active SC or Compact licensure.

• 97-bed short-term acute care hospital setting
• Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Patient ratios of 1:6 to 1:7
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required to like units with like patients to meet facility needs
• Charting via Epic EMR
• Free parking on site

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have the license in hand prior to start
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Telemetry experience preferred, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• 13-week contract
• All required online modules must be completed prior to your start date; modules are completed pre-start and average approximately 4 hours
• Attendance at staff meetings is required
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized
• Local candidates are accepted but at a reduced rate
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs
• During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
