Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a short-term acute care hospital in Lancaster, SC, requiring prior travel nursing experience and active SC or Compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work setting is a 97-bed short-term acute care hospital
• Med/Surg Telemetry unit caring for patients requiring cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Patient ratio is 1:6–1:7
• Schedule is 4x12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required to like units with similar patient populations
• Charting is done in Epic
• Free parking on-site

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact RN license; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have the active license in hand prior to start
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Telemetry experience preferred, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Required orientation modules must be completed prior to the start date
• Attendance at staff meetings is required
• Candidates who have previously worked at any MUSC location as permanent or PRN staff must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application; approval is based on facility needs
• Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are accepted but non-local candidates are prioritized
• During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
• Royal blue scrubs are required
