Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a short-term acute care hospital in Lancaster, SC, requiring prior travel experience and a valid SC or Compact RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a 97-bed short-term acute care hospital
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Patient ratios of 1:6 to 1:7
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to like units with like patients is required to meet facility needs
• Charting via Epic EMR
• Parking is available at no cost
• Royal Blue scrubs required
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have an active license prior to start
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Telemetry experience preferred, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required

Additional Information

• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized
• Local candidates are eligible but will be considered at a reduced rate
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs
• Candidates with 7 or fewer days of non-holiday RTO may be eligible for an expedited offer process
• Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Required online modules must be completed prior to the start date; access is typically granted the Wednesday before start
• Attendance at staff meetings is required
• During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties; peak activity months are August and September
