Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ER Holding Unit position at a Level I trauma center, requiring ACLS certification and a minimum of 2 years of acute care experience.

Details

  • Position is based in the ER Holding Unit of a Level I Emergency Department
  • Primary focus is caring for admitted patients boarding in the ED while awaiting inpatient bed availability, in a designated area or hallway as needed
  • May float to an acute care unit when no boarding patients are present, though this is expected to be rare
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 6:45 AM
  • Every other weekend required, with some holiday coverage expected
  • Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
  • Block scheduling can be accommodated

Requirements

  • Active RN license — TN state or Compact license required; pending licenses are not accepted
  • Current ACLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care or medical-surgical telemetry (MS Tele) nursing experience required
  • Two professional references required for consideration
  • Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers may be considered depending on prior clinical experience
  • Local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis; candidates must live outside a 25-mile radius of the facility to qualify under standard travel terms
