Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) Med/Surg Telemetry position working night shifts with a 1:6 patient ratio and on-call requirements.
Details
- LTAC Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Weekend shifts required on an as-needed basis
- On-call or additional shift coverage required: 2 on-call shifts OR 2 additional shifts per 6-week period
- Floating to a lower level of care within the traveler's skillset is expected based on critical staffing needs
- Block scheduling is not available
- Epic EMR experience preferred but not required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active SC or compact RN license required prior to start (pending license considered for initial review)
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; 2 years preferred
- LTAC, Med/Surg, or Telemetry nursing experience expected
- Must be able to pass a Cardiac Dysrhythmia test and Medication test on the first day of orientation (one attempt allowed)
- Must be able to pass an on-site respirator fit test; shaving may be required to meet fit testing requirements
- Two professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of initial consideration; RTO requests made after submission will not be honored
- Holiday coverage is required as part of on-call responsibilities
- An attendance policy is in effect: missing more than two shifts during a 13-week contract without a reasonable explanation may result in contract review or cancellation
