Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with critical care experience for a 13-week night shift travel contract at a 444-bed acute care hospital in Houston, TX.
Details
- Work in the Respiratory Care department of a 444-bed acute care hospital in Houston, TX
- Night shift hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Team consists of 3 RTs per night shift
- Patient ratios are variable
- Equipment used includes ventilators, BiPAP, oxygen, Vapotherm, and blood draw supplies
- Procedures performed include ventilator operation, bronchoscopies, and blood draws
- EMR: Meditech
- Rotating weekend requirement
- No blocked scheduling; no holidays off
- 13-week assignment
Requirements
- RRT or CRT credential required; must be active, licensed, and certified
- ACLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted); certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the start date
- Minimum 1 year of experience in respiratory therapy
- Must have active experience within the last 6 months in the role
- Critical care experience required
- ER experience preferred
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no Canadian SSN accepted
- Professional reference required (2 references required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)
- License required if applicable
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; no local candidates accepted
- Scrub color: pewter
- Perform standard respiratory therapy scope of practice including ventilator management, bronchoscopies, and blood draws
- Ability to prioritize tasks and perform effectively under stressful conditions is essential
- No floating required
