Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position requiring 2+ years of CVICU experience, including fresh heart cases, on a rotating 36/48-hour weekly schedule.

- Hospital-based Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) setting
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Experience with fresh heart (post-cardiac surgery) patients is central to this role
- Charting performed in Meditech EMR
- Night shift hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM on a rotating 36/48 schedule (alternating 3x12 and 4x12 weeks, equaling 84 hours per two-week period)
Requirements
- Active KY RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand — required, no exceptions
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required
- Experience with fresh heart (post-cardiac surgery) patients required
- Driver's license required, with address matching permanent residence
- Two professional references required: at least one Charge Nurse or higher and one supervisor, both completed within the last year
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
Additional Information
- Candidate must be willing and able to commit to the rotating 36/48 schedule; inability to accept this schedule may result in cancellation
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be considered; RTO must be declared upfront and no changes will be accepted after submission
- Must work at least one major or one minor holiday per contract
- Travelers who have worked at this health system for one year must take a minimum 6-month break before being eligible to return
- Travel pairs are accepted on a limited basis; paired travelers will not be placed on the same shift or unit
- Middle name is required for consideration — confirmation of no middle name is acceptable if applicable
