Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical travel position in Alexandria, LA, with a focus on post-surgical and neuro patient populations.
Details
- Acute Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting
- Patient population includes post-surgical patients (orthopedics, general surgery) and neurological populations
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1–6:1 depending on staffing
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Weekends may be required based on scheduling needs
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating to other units is a possibility
- Epic EMR experience is a bonus but not required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license in Louisiana or a Compact state currently in hand
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
- US Social Security Number required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness
- Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, families, and caregivers
- BSN is preferred but not required
- Temp-to-perm conversion is a possibility at the conclusion of the contract
