Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Acute Med/Surg Telemetry position at a pediatric hospital in San Antonio, TX, requiring at least 1 year of relevant nursing experience and an active TX or compact RN license.
Details
- Day shift position, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 13-week contract
- Acute Med/Surg unit within a pediatric hospital setting
- Patient population includes a mix of rehab, surgical, and respiratory patients across multiple floors
- Epic EMR used for charting; experience preferred but not required
- Experience with trach/vent and high-flow oxygen is recommended but not required
- Rehab nursing experience is recommended but not required
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty
- BSN preferred
Additional Information
- Provides routine and complex nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and effectiveness
- Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
- Temp-to-perm conversion is possible
- Copies of all certifications must be active and current at time of consideration — expired certifications will result in disqualification
- US Social Security Number is required for consideration; Canadian SIN is not accepted
