Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position in Baton Rouge requiring ACLS/BLS certification, on-call availability, and prior IR experience.

Details

  • Hospital-based Interventional Radiology unit
  • Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shifts (6:30–15:00 standard; 7:30–16:00 on on-call days)
  • On-call responsibilities are required for this position
  • Cases include CT-guided biopsies (lung, liver, kidney), chest tube placements, abscess drains, bone marrow biopsies, nerve plexus blocks, and CTAs
  • Vascular and IR cases include angiograms (peripheral/mesenteric), venograms, fistulagrams, vascular catheter placements, cholangiograms, cholecystostomy tube placements, IVC filter placements, nephrostomy tube placements, and other IR procedures involving non-cardiac organs
  • Role is circulating nurse only — scrubbing is not required
  • Procedural sedation monitoring is a component of the role

Requirements

  • Active Louisiana (LA) or Compact RN license currently in hand
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Prior Interventional Radiology nursing experience required
  • Competency in procedural sedation monitoring required
  • Familiarity with pre-procedural documentation requirements including H&P, consent forms, orders, and labs
  • Travel nursing experience preferred; local candidates will not be considered

Additional Information

  • Circulate cases across vascular and IR procedures as the nursing team member — no scrub responsibilities
  • Must be prepared to manage on-call shifts with adjusted start times
  • All time off and scheduling requests should be disclosed at the time of consideration
  • Prior travel nursing experience is strongly preferred for this role
