Description
American Traveler is seeking an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with 1+ year of experience performing TTE, TEE, and stress echocardiograms in an acute care hospital setting.
Details
- Hospital-based cardiac sonography position performing diagnostic echocardiographic procedures under the direction of a Cardiologist
- Procedures include transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE), and stress echocardiograms
- Utilizes ultrasound and diagnostic imaging equipment, including contrast agents such as Definity and agitated bubble techniques
- Images and documentation maintained in PACS or EMR system
- 4x10-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Echo Technologist required; 3 years preferred
- Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program with a focus in Cardiac Sonography
- RDCS (via ARDMS) or RCS (via CCI) certification required
- BLS required
- License required if applicable
- Experience with stress echocardiography and TEE preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently and push/pull/carry objects or patients up to 25 lbs
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift
Additional Information
- Perform TTE, TEE, and stress echocardiograms per ASE guidelines and physician orders
- Analyze echocardiographic data and prepare preliminary findings for the interpreting Cardiologist
- May start and manage IV lines for contrast echocardiography when credentialed and trained
- Participates in IAC Echocardiography accreditation processes and continuous quality improvement initiatives
- If the assignment extends beyond 6 months, CRASE training will be required
- May be floated to other departments where qualified before core staff is floated
- Fast-paced hospital environment with frequent exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials; PPE required
