Description
American Traveler is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer specializing in echocardiography with a minimum of 5 years of echo experience, including 2+ years in an acute inpatient setting at a Level I Trauma facility.
Details
- Inpatient echocardiography lab at a tertiary care hospital with a Level I Trauma Center
- 10-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM on a rotating schedule, including rotating weekends
- Overnight call from 5:00 PM to 6:30 AM, 2–3 nights per month, subject to strict guidelines and cardiologist approval
- Average daily workload of 7–8 echocardiograms per day
- Procedures include transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs), stress echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs), 3D echo, and strain imaging
- Float policy requires travel between facilities within a 25-mile radius as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of echocardiography experience
- At least 2 years of acute inpatient echo experience at a Level I Trauma facility
- Proficiency in TTEs, stress echos, TEEs, 3D echo, and strain imaging
- In-depth knowledge of complex cardiac anatomy and pathology
- Experience with ultrasound contrast agents and image optimization techniques
- Ability to manage high-volume workflows in a critical care environment
- Adherence to ASE and IAC standards
- Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references required
- License required if applicable
- SSN and DOB required for consideration

- Perform comprehensive echocardiographic studies meeting accreditation standards with precise imaging and diagnostic accuracy
- Collaborate with sonographers, cardiologists, and fellows through case reviews, feedback sessions, and educational opportunities
- Use of AirPods, laptops, and cell phones on the unit is prohibited
- Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility in Maine or New Hampshire are considered local and may have different travel pay eligibility
- Local travelers are not eligible for contract renewals or extensions
