Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 2 years of acute care experience for a night shift travel assignment in a 240-bed hospital's Respiratory Therapy department.

Details

• Work in the Respiratory Therapy department of a 240-bed acute care hospital
• Covers ED, PEDS, ICU, NICU, and Med/Surg patient populations
• Patient load averages 30–40 points per shift
• Uses PB 840 ventilators in the ICU
• EMR: Meditech (prior experience preferred)
• Night shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• Minimum staffing of 3 RTs per night shift
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active RRT license and certification required (license required if applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in respiratory therapy
• Minimum 6 months of current acute care hospital RRT experience within the last 6 months
• Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of start date)
• CRT or NBRC certification required
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no Canadian SSN accepted
• One professional reference required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — no local candidates considered
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include administering treatments, ventilator setup, assisting with intubation, ABGs, and all RT therapies
• RT plays a key role in NICU and ICU therapy and ventilator liberation, requiring a high degree of clinical autonomy
• PICU and/or NICU experience is preferred
• Prior Meditech EMR experience is preferred
• Flexible scheduling is available
