Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a night-shift Med/Surg position in Nashville, TN, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and a TN or Compact RN license.

Details

• Hospital-based Med/Surg unit (3rd Floor, Cost Center 610) in Nashville, TN
• 25-bed unit serving a general medical/surgical patient population
• Patient ratios are 5–6:1 on days and 6:1 on nights
• Unit support includes a unit secretary and 2–3 PCTs on days, and 2–3 PCTs on nights
• Equipment used includes Sara Steady, Wound Vac, Telehealth, Virtual Sitter equipment, and remote telemetry
• EMR: Meditech
• Procedures performed on the unit include IV placement and Foley catheter insertion
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Scheduling requires every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday); weekdays are flexible
• Floating is PRN and most commonly between Med/Surg units
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license — TN or Compact license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience required
• BLS required (AHA or ARC accepted); certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and CPI certifications preferred
• Strong assessment skills required
• Experience with IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing cabinets required
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required if candidate is from Florida or Missouri)

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include bedside safety rounding (BSSR) and hourly rounding per patient experience standards
• Black or royal blue scrubs required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
