Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist for a Cardiovascular Invasive unit, requiring 3+ years of applicable experience and ARRT registration.

Details

• Work in a Cardiovascular Invasive department performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac, vascular, and electrophysiology procedures
• 4x10 hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Rotating weekend and holiday shifts required
• May float to other Carle Health hospital locations within the system
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of applicable experience in cardiac/vascular/EP diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Associate's Degree in a related field or Certificate of completion for a Radiology Program required
• ARRT Registration in Radiology required
• BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• IEMA (Illinois state) License in Radiology Technology required if applicable
• Knowledge of hemodynamic concepts, cardiac anatomy and physiology, and EP concepts required
• Competency in moderate sedation administration and policy protocol required
• Advanced knowledge of EKG interpretation and arrhythmia recognition required
• Proficiency in sterile table setup, patient preparation, and draping required
• Knowledge of radiation safety and imaging equipment operation required

Additional Information

• Assist cardiologists in performing invasive coronary, vascular, and EP diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Set up and operate electrical and imaging equipment used in cardiac/vascular procedures
• Operate monophasic and biphasic defibrillators
• Interpret hemodynamic and procedural results and outcomes
• Assist with anesthesia needs for deeply sedated or anesthetized patients
• Collaborate with team members and other healthcare providers in planning patient care
• Manage digital archiving system for safe storage of patient images and reports
• Train and mentor team members as needed
• Maintain aseptic technique and assist with passing sterile guidewires, catheters, and other devices
• Prepare sterile fields and instruments for sterilization
• Communicate and educate patients during procedures to alleviate anxiety and ensure focused care
• 50-mile radius rule applies; local candidates within this radius are not eligible
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
