Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience, Epic proficiency, and a WA or compact RN license.
Details
- Labor & Delivery unit in a hospital setting with 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
- Patient population includes labor, preterm labor, GYN surgeries, couplet care, low-risk antepartum, and transition nursery cases
- Staffing ratio of 1:1–3
- Responsibilities span circulating, OB-GYN, post-op, pre-op, scrub, low-risk antepartum, and low-risk L&D
- Special procedures include blood/blood products administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, cooling/warming blankets, drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, syringe pumps, wound vac, and IV medications including heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate
- Attends all deliveries including high-risk deliveries
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
- Floating required to postpartum and NICU based on skill set, with floating expected between all facilities within the state
- Epic EMR required
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and AWHONN Intermediate
- ACLS preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment total within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 3 months before returning as a traveler, and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Former permanent employees of non-Swedish Providence facilities are eligible after a 3-month separation; all Swedish facilities honor active compact licenses
- Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
- Minimal RTO is strongly preferred; requests should be disclosed prior to or at the time of submission, as post-offer RTO requests may be denied
