Description
American Traveler is seeking a Vascular Sonographer with 2+ years of experience and RVT certification for a 13-week contract in the Heart and Vascular Institute of a hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Details
- Position is based in the Heart and Vascular Institute, with floating required between the clinic and hospital
- Clinic has 11 imaging rooms
- Performs routine vascular scans (complete and limited) on both pediatric and adult patients
- Average daily caseload includes approximately 8 outpatient and 6–8 inpatient cases
- Equipment includes Philips CV-x and 7C ultrasound systems
- EMR: Epic (experience required)
- 8-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week
- Call coverage in the hospital is required 6 nights per month, with weekend call occurring every 6–7 weeks
- Holidays are considered part of the weekend and call rotation
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of vascular sonography experience
- RVT certification required
- BLS required
- AAS degree required
- Experience with pediatric and adult patient populations required
- License required if applicable
- Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- 2 professional references dated within the past year required for consideration
- DOB and SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Performs vascular scans of veins and arteries, including routine complete and limited studies
- Supported by a team of 17 additional sonographers, RNs, a Patient Service Rep, 14 cardiologists, and a Clinical Informaticist
- 5-day orientation provided
- Time off requests require manager approval
- Black scrubs required

- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former permanent staff must wait 1 full year before returning as a traveler
